Full-time position responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing student leadership programs.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate leadership development training for students.
- Provide oversight of the Student Government Association (SGA), including weekly meetings, activities, and SGA Committees.
- Promote involvement in student activities and community service.
- Ensure the Student Government Association operates within DOL, Corporate, and center plans, including the Student Benefit Fund.
- Exhibit and promote modeling, mentoring, and monitoring of each of the eight Career Success Standards (CSS).
- Participate in the Center Management Teams.
- Track and report participation, progress, and outcomes of leadership programs.
- Collaborate with various center departments to integrate leadership opportunities.
- Provide initial leadership training during Career Preparation Period (CPP).
- Organize student-led events and student community service projects.
- Work toward meeting center performance management goals.
- Maintain good housekeeping in all areas and comply with safety practices.
- Comply with all DOL guidelines, Job Corps notices and bulletins, company and center policies and procedures.
- Maintain building and equipment and ensure proper measures are taken for the care of equipment and supplies.
- Participate in PRH mandated staff training.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the individual's scope and capabilities.
Requirements
- Minimum of one to two years related experience in education.
- High School Diploma; Associate degree or higher preferred.
- One year of related experience working with youth.
- Must be willing and able to work evening and weekend hours.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk; reach with hands and arms; and talk and listen.
- Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; taste and smell.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision capabilities required include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
Work Environment
- Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
- Noise level can vary from moderate to loud.
Pay
$18.76/hour
