Student Leadership Coordinator

Full-time position responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing student leadership programs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate leadership development training for students.
• Provide oversight of the Student Government Association (SGA), including weekly meetings, activities, and SGA Committees.
• Promote involvement in student activities and community service.
• Ensure the Student Government Association operates within DOL, Corporate, and center plans, including the Student Benefit Fund.
• Exhibit and promote modeling, mentoring, and monitoring of each of the eight Career Success Standards (CSS).
• Participate in the Center Management Teams.
• Track and report participation, progress, and outcomes of leadership programs.
• Collaborate with various center departments to integrate leadership opportunities.
• Provide initial leadership training during Career Preparation Period (CPP).
• Organize student-led events and student community service projects.
• Work toward meeting center performance management goals.
• Maintain good housekeeping in all areas and comply with safety practices.
• Comply with all DOL guidelines, Job Corps notices and bulletins, company and center policies and procedures.
• Maintain building and equipment and ensure proper measures are taken for the care of equipment and supplies.
• Participate in PRH mandated staff training.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the individual's scope and capabilities.

Requirements

• Minimum of one to two years related experience in education.
• High School Diploma; Associate degree or higher preferred.
• One year of related experience working with youth.
• Must be willing and able to work evening and weekend hours.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk; reach with hands and arms; and talk and listen.
• Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; taste and smell.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision capabilities required include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.

Work Environment

• Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
• Noise level can vary from moderate to loud.

Pay

$18.76/hour
