Description Student Leadership Coordinator and Instructional Faculty This position offices in-person, on campus Role Summary As a valued member of the Student Culture and Affairs team, the Student Leadership Coordinator and Instructional Faculty member at Valor Christian High School will oversee and coordinate the school’s Student Leadership Program, guiding Valor’s student leaders in championing school culture through the advancement and implementation of fun, creative, community-building events. The Student Leadership Coordinator and Instructional Faculty will teach two sections of the Student Leadership course, providing classroom instruction that shepherds students in leadership development through a comprehensive curriculum encompassing the practical application of basic leadership concepts and theory. Practical application is achieved through the planning, development, and execution of exceptional student events and activities by Student Leadership students, with this role providing guidance throughout the process. This position is required to work in the evenings and on weekends to fulfill appropriate supervision and direction of student leaders and school events. Responsibilities Possess and Model a Growing Relationship with Christ Pursue full devotion to Christ and live a life that reflects that authenticity Model the fruits of the spirit in communications, relationships and daily work Demonstrate teachability and a willing heart for service Embody others-centered, servant-leadership in all interactions Demonstrate Trustworthy Commitment to Valor’s Christian Community Accept and uphold Valor’s values and beliefs as found in the Statement of Beliefs , Christian Community Policy , and Valor Culture Document Accept and abide by all affirmations in Valor’s Annual Statement of Commitment Be relationally involved in the life/lives of our students with a heart of service and mission Seamlessly and deliberately integrate Biblical truth and Christian values into daily work Oversee and Coordinate Valor’s Student Leadership Program Participate in vision-casting and implement annual operating plan goals developed in conjunction with the Director of Student Culture and Affairs In collaboration with the Academic Leadership Team and the Director of Student Culture and Affairs, shepherd the development and implementation of a comprehensive leadership curriculum that provides learning opportunities to develop student leaders on the Valor Christian campus Skillfully execute all administrative functions required to organize, promote, supervise, and evaluate student events and activities. Provide oversight, direction, and guidance to student leaders in creating engaging community-building events, including Communities and Pep Assemblies, ensuring collaboration with the Academics, Athletics, Discovery, and Arts+Media departments. (Significant student events include homecoming, spirit of sharing week, wish week, prom, etc.) Provide management and supervisor to Student Leadership to organize events, facilitate communication, manage student committee conferences, team-building sessions, and class retreats Oversee annual selection process and appointment of Student Leadership VPs Assist in the establishment and advisement of student clubs and organizations, providing structure and experiences to develop student leadership skills and abilities Ensure the ongoing development of the Student Leadership Board and appropriate student leadership models to meet the needs of the Valor student body In collaboration with Valor’s marketing and communications team, oversee Valor Student Leadership social media and all aspects of marketing and communication for student leadership events ensuring Valor’s branding guidelines and standards are met Engage with the Valor Parent Association (VPA) to implement and support student events. Students will have been empowered and encouraged to take appropriate and judicious risks that exemplify innovative, creative, compassionate, and missionally-aligned leadership. Ultimately, students will have found their leadership style and voice within the loving embrace of Christ. Education, Experience, And Required Competencies Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required Two years of increasingly responsible programming experience in the area of extra-curricular student life activities or Student Leadership focusing on ministry Organized and detail-oriented approach to event planning and execution Self-motivated and self-initiated Computer-proficient including experience with Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite software programs Knowledge of Valor Christian policies and procedures Leadership/supervisory skills Ability and willingness to relate to students with different cultural and social backgrounds and integrate a Biblical worldview into all aspects of leadership development Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to effectively partner with parents PHYSICAL DEMANDS The same basic physical demands described here are the same for all employees to successfully perform the essential functions of their jobs. This position offices in-person, on campus. HOURS PER WEEK: Full-time, Exempt. Evening and weekend work as required.
