Student Intern - Simulation
About Us
Valley Children's Interprofessional Education Simulation Program is the first Simulation Program in the Central Valley to be accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. Founded in 2015, the program includes all members of our pediatric healthcare team, including physicians, pharmacists, nurses, respiratory care practitioners, and others. Its structure was developed by an Interprofessional Steering Committee of leaders in administration, medical and nursing education, and information technology. The program incorporates Healthcare Simulation Standards and Core Competencies for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice. Program leaders have presented at national and international conferences sponsored by the California Simulation Alliance, INACSL, Society for Simulation in Healthcare, Extracorporeal Life Support Organization Annual Conference, and The International Pediatric Simulation Society.
Job Summary
Provide a unique opportunity to interface and contribute to the development of hospital initiatives in various departments. Specific focus to special projects in assigned area. There is no hands-on patient care. Under close supervision, perform entry-level professional duties providing the opportunity for professional training in various departments within the hospital. Perform assigned duties to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures, and standards required for successful performance. May perform duties such as gathering and organizing data to provide information for departmental special projects or reports, assist in preparing written reports; filling; accompany professional level employees on assignment. Assignments serve to offer practical experience and broad exposure to the Hospital's organizational structure and services. Utilize Hospital and or department specific software to complete assignments. Specific activities vary by assignment.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma/G.E.D. (required)
Program: Current enrollment at Fresno State in undergraduate or graduate level degree program and have completed at least one semester of classes with a minimum 3.0 GPA. (required)
Work Experience: Prior experience in healthcare (preferred)
Interest in healthcare (preferred)
