About the role

Operate and maintain systems associated with a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) facility and Simple Cycle facility while demonstrating safety awareness and direction that will continuously improve performance by employees and contractors through the use and strict adherence to procedures and processes. Primary location: Lake Charles, Louisiana (also Westlake). Work is onsite.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regulatory compliance and be proactive in dealing with all agencies to avoid reportable violations.
• Participate in the multi‑year Production Technician multi‑skill progression plan to develop key skills in maintenance and operations.
• Conduct and participate in job briefings and safety meetings.
• Apply understanding and knowledge of plant systems, burner controls (where applicable), turbine controls, data acquisition, process controls, regulating devices, personal computers, troubleshooting, etc.
• Perform operational rounds, PM/PDM activities, HRSG/Boiler water chemistry, CEMS monitoring and calibrations.
• Perform mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical maintenance as needed.
• Work in a team environment to assist in day‑to‑day activities.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled as a student in a technical, associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree program (full‑time or part‑time) pursuing a degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, and/or Process Technology.
• Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 (verified by official transcript from the previous semester).
• Willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship provided.
