Job Description

The University of Florida, Division of Enrollment Management, is hiring a Student Financial Aid Coordinator II to oversee high-impact scholarship and grant programs that directly shape student success. You’ll facilitate intricate funding processes, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, partner with teams across campus, and be the go-to resource for students and stakeholders alike.

Scholarship Program Management

  • Guide students and families through state, custodial, and external scholarship opportunities.
  • Administer state, custodial, and external scholarship programs for the university.
  • Certify student eligibility.
  • Apply awarding rules and serve as the primary point of contact for questions from both campus partners and outside organizations.

Program Collaboration & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Partner with campus and external organizations to administer programs such as: United World College, National Merit, Latin American Caribbean Scholarship, AmeriCorps, Gates Millennium, Gates Scholarship, and DC Tuition Assistance Grant.
  • Evaluate eligibility, manage applications, award funds, and maintain reporting.
  • Maintain smooth program operations through clear communication and collaborative problem-solving.

State Program Administration

  • Assist with calculating and processing state program awards, including: Bright Futures, Honorably Discharged Graduate Assistance Program, Rosewood Family Scholarship, Florida Farmworker Student Scholarship, and Scholarships for Children & Spouses of Deceased or Disabled Veterans.
  • Ensure awards are accurate, updated, and aligned with state regulations.

Brecht Scholarship Administration

  • Support students across Florida by managing the Brecht Scholarship process.
  • Oversee applications, outreach, and communication with students and institutions.
  • Use professional judgment to make thoughtful awarding decisions that support student success.

Other Duties

  • Support the Manager with administration of additional aid programs.
  • Participate in occasional travel for presentations and professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Expected Salary

$47,500 annually

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of financial aid rules and regulations.
  • Understanding of institutional goals and how financial aid decisions support those goals.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
