About the role
The U.S. National Archives seeks a dedicated individual to join its team as a Citizen Archivist. This position involves processing and cataloging historical records, engaging with the public through social media and online platforms, and contributing to educational initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Process and catalog historical records

- Contribute to educational initiatives and outreach programs
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the accessibility and usability of archival materials
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in History, Library Science, or related field
- Experience with digital archiving and social media engagement
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Knowledge of archival principles and best practices
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Basic understanding of web development and user interface design
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
