Student Employment - Occupational Therapy Assistant Program Student Work Study(part-time)

About the role

This position is for a current OTA Program student to work exclusively with the SLCC OTA program. The primary focus will be on recruitment, marketing, and managing a communications plan to promote the visibility of the program. Additional duties include helping run the SLCC OT/PT Pro Bono clinic, clerical tasks, event planning, inventory and equipment management, and other assigned duties. This position should be available to work approximately 20 hours a week between and after classes Monday through Friday, with some occasional remote work assigned.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with the OTA Program Coordinator and Health Sciences Admissions and Marketing team to implement and maintain a communications plan to promote program visibility and recruitment.
• Utilize multiple software applications including Microsoft 365 apps such as Excel, Microsoft Forms, Microsoft Teams, Word, and Bookings, as well as learn how to program and utilize clinic Medical Check-In Software to track client data.
• Act as a liaison between SLCC SOTA club officers, OTA Program student body, and the OTA program faculty.
• Assist in organizing marketing and collaborative events and provide tours of the program to prospective students interested in Occupational Therapy.
• Professional representation of SLCC and its programs to the community.

Skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective interpersonal communication.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Basic computer skills, knowledge of social media operations, and functions.

Requirements

• Eligible for Work-Study (FAFSA).
• Currently enrolled at SLCC as an undergraduate student and in good academic standing (i.e., 2.0 GPA or higher).
• Acceptance into the SLCC OTA Program.
• High School Graduate or GED.
• Ability to work the hours mentioned above.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous office administration work preferred, but not required.
• Advanced knowledge of social media operations and functions as it relates to marketing strategies and current trends.
• Conversational Spanish.
