Student Employee
Overview
Advancement at Auburn University is excited to begin the search for a Student Employee to provide support for the Building Operations department at the Auburn Alumni Center! This position supports the day-to-day functions of facility operations and event services.
Responsibilities
- Aid with event setup and breakdown; arrange tables, chairs, equipment, and signage according to event specifications.
- Provide on-site event support to ensure smooth execution, including troubleshooting basic issues and responding to staff or guest needs.
- Support building maintenance operations by performing light cleaning, reporting maintenance concerns, and assisting with minor upkeep tasks.
- Staff the reception desk by greeting visitors, answering questions, directing traffic, and providing general information.
- Monitor facility spaces to ensure cleanliness, organization, and adherence to policies.
- Aid with inventory, supply restocking, and equipment organization.
- Follow all safety procedures and report hazards or incidents promptly.
Qualifications
- Enrolled student at Auburn University, in good academic standing.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous customer service or event support experience.
- Ability to perform light physical work (lifting, moving furniture, standing for extended periods).
Working Conditions
- May require evening and weekend availability based on event schedules.
- Ability to lift up to [insert weight, e.g., 25–50 lbs] and perform physical tasks related to event setup.
