STUDENT DIRECTOR

Riverview Church is located in the Lansing, MI, area—Michigan’s second most diverse county. The region attracts a mix of singles, families, students, and professionals, evolving into a predominantly white-collar community with a “Love Lansing” ethos and active civic engagement. As the state capital, Lansing is experiencing significant downtown development and offers easy access to the Great Lakes region for outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, and hiking. About the role

The Student Director at Riverview Church provides pastoral leadership, vision, and oversight for middle school and high school student ministries across all venues. The core mission is to nurture spiritual growth, encourage student ownership, and create dynamic, Christ-centered environments by fostering a culture of relational disciple-making.

The Director leads and equips staff and volunteer leaders through regular coaching and training, ensuring student ministries align with Riverview’s mission, values, and theology. The role also involves planning and executing impactful events and retreats, managing the student ministry budget, and building strong, intentional relationships with students outside of scheduled church programming.

This position requires a leader with a pastoral heart, decisiveness, and strong relational skills to guide and mentor the next generation. The Student Director must possess a missional mindset, focusing on outreach and community impact while cultivating a healthy, unified, and mission-focused leadership culture.
