Responsibilities

  • Provides direct and indirect advising support to multiple sponsored-level and recognized organizations, committees, and commissions within the Student Government Association.
  • Provides administrative support to a student group which may include, but is not limited to, leadership development, training and development for students and advisors, risk management activities, programming and logistics for events, recruitment and retention, evaluation of programs, adherence to policies and procedures including judicial processes, financial oversight including budgeting, marketing and communication for various constituent groups, vendor and donor relationships, student travel, technological resources, inventory management, document review, and other tasks as required by the group or department.
  • Serves as the primary advisor for Student Government Association student organizations and traditions-based programming, overseeing administrative processes such as pre-event planning, relationship management, outreach, development, risk management and assessment.
  • Oversees SGA Advisor development and promotes and works to support SGA outreach efforts.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. One year of experience in student affairs work or related specialty area.
  • PREFERRED: Master’s degree in student affairs, higher education or related field. Two or more years as a Student Development Specialist II or other post-graduate experience in higher education, student affairs, or specific area(s) described in this position description. Significant student group advising, leadership training, and experience in the specific area(s) described in this position description.
