About the role
The JMU Event Management Student Content Strategist will support Event Management by creating and sharing content that promotes events across campus. This position requires candidates to be self-motivating, creative, and detail-oriented.
Responsibilities
- Write copy, edit, and develop content strategy and brand messaging.
- Handle the practical side of content management, including publishing and formatting content in the EMS calendar.
- Work closely with event sponsors and other calendar managers to clarify and improve calendar content and filtering.
- Curate events as they are posted to the Master Calendar by evaluating details, adding images, featuring events, and approving or rejecting for publishing.
- Review published events and feeds to confirm accuracy and completeness of details; submit or make corrections to booking details.
- Work closely with schedulers and sponsors.
- Review, compare, and create events in the Master Calendar for Athletics, Arboretum, Planetarium, and others not currently scheduling in EMS.
- Understand the impact on university image, marketing, and operational impact of proper use and publishing with the Master Calendar.

Qualifications
Students must be degree-seeking, enrolled at least half-time (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
Pay
Hourly pay rate: $14.00
