Student - Computer Science - Instructional Assistant

About the role

Utah Valley University’s Computer Science Department is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support faculty in various duties related to Computer Science courses.

Responsibilities

• Tutoring students in Computer Science courses
• Grading assignments and exams
• Assisting with course development

Requirements

• Must be a current UVU student at the start of Fall 2026
• Must have successfully completed CS 1400 & CS 1410 with a B or higher
• Must have received a grade of B or higher in the course(s) assigned to IA for
• Must have successfully completed a 3000-level class with a B or higher

Skills

• Effective time-management and problem-solving skills
• Competent skills in MS Office (including Teams) and Canvas
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Ability to effectively communicate with faculty, staff, and students
