Business Development$8.25/hrInternship

About the role

As a Student Business Development Team Lead representing SpaceX on behalf of Mosaic, you will work on the front lines of the Starlink Customer Acquisition Program in your territory or on your campus. This role focuses on sales, lead generation, community outreach, and customer conversations, with a Team Lead component that supports local recruiting, scheduling, and team coordination. You will own an assigned territory near campus, use door‑to‑door outreach as your main focus, and build momentum through local events, community connections, and referrals. You will receive paid training from Mosaic and Starlink/SpaceX, ongoing coaching, and the chance to earn hourly pay plus commission for every qualified activation. As a Team Lead you may also earn $100 for each eligible referral you bring in who is hired and begins working on the program. Representing SpaceX means contributing to a mission that expands reliable high‑speed connectivity and develops technologies for a more connected, future‑focused world.

Responsibilities

  • Own your territory: use broadband coverage maps and territory tools to identify households, plan routes, track outreach, and learn what works.
  • Start real conversations: introduce Starlink door‑to‑door, explain service and hardware offerings, answer questions, and help interested customers get started using your personal referral code (customers complete their own order).
  • Make an impact in the community: look for opportunities beyond the front door, such as farmers’ markets, community events, local business partnerships, and civic groups; strong performers may support Starlink events and activations.
  • Grow your network: turn positive conversations and satisfied customers into introductions to neighbors, family, and friends who may need a better internet option.
  • Learn from your results: log activity, sales, hours, and mileage in Mosaic's field app after each shift; have regular check‑ins with your Regional Sales Manager to review wins, discuss challenges, and sharpen your approach.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in school and able to work 15 to 25 hours per week around your class schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Have a reliable personal vehicle, a valid driver's license, and a smartphone (rural territories require reliable transportation).
  • Be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
  • No prior sales experience required; we seek ambitious, coachable individuals comfortable meeting new people and eager to learn.
  • Experience in sales, fundraising, customer service, athletics, student organizations, or campus leadership is a plus.
  • Self‑motivated, dependable, and able to manage time, follow through, and show up with energy and curiosity.
  • Willing to undergo a background check after offer; Mosaic will assist with any local solicitation permit if required.

Benefits

  • Paid training from Mosaic and Starlink/SpaceX.
  • Real experience in sales, lead generation, territory planning, community outreach, and customer engagement.
  • Coaching and feedback from experienced field sales leaders.
  • Resume‑building experience with a well‑known technology brand.
  • Potential consideration for spring semester expansion opportunities or campus lead roles based on performance.
  • Mileage reimbursement.
  • Monthly cell phone stipend.
  • Mosaic‑provided Starlink apparel.
  • Territory guidance and regular manager support.

Pay

Base pay of $8.25 per hour plus a $200 commission for each qualified activation (paid after activation qualifies). Team Leads may also earn $100 for each eligible referral who is hired and begins working on the program, subject to program referral guidelines. For example, a representative working 20 hours per week who achieves the program minimum of 10 activations per month would earn base pay plus $2,000 in commission for that month.

Schedule

Part‑time schedule of 15–25 hours per week, including evenings and weekends when residents are most likely to be home. Paid training begins the week of October 5, 2026, with field selling running from the week of October 12, 2026 through the end of the year. Strong performers may be considered for spring semester expansion opportunities
