Students interested in applying must be a current JSSOM MD or PA student in good academic and professional standing.
- Indicators of good standing include:
- No history of professionalism issues
- No course remediations
- Score of 70 or higher on all course exams
- Performance feedback from JSSOM faculty and/or staff may be considered
- Previous experience with teaching, tutoring, or mentoring is preferred
- MD Eligibility: rising MS2s, rising MS3s, and rising MS4s
- PA Eligibility: rising second years (PAS-2)
- Students who currently have a UTMB GA, TA, or Federal Work Study position are ineligible to hold the tutoring position
Responsibilities
- Organize and host weekly group tutoring sessions for MS1, MS2, and PA-S1 coursework throughout the academic year
- Hold one-on-one tutoring sessions as requested by MS1, MS2, MS3, and PA-S1 students
The position is part-time with the expectation of working a minimum of 5 hours per month and runs through the academic year.
