About the role
The Database Support Section is seeking a highly motivated self-starter, who possesses excellent written, proofreading, verbal communication, and customer service skills.
The Student Assistant will assist with tracking and managing of DSS wide projects; interview proctoring; updating spreadsheets, procedures, and other documentation, and various other administrative duties as needed. Data entry will be required in this role and daily use of Excel, Word, and Outlook/Teams.

Qualifications

Skills
- Coursework or foundational knowledge in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, including exposure to relational database concepts and server software
- Ability to learn and apply basic database administration practices, such as simple database changes, updates, software patches, and release activities
- Ability to assist with monitoring and validating database backup and recovery processes, including identifying issues and helping coordinate corrective actions under supervision
- Experience or familiarity with generating technical reports, compiling data, or using information technology service systems to extract statistics
- Ability to learn to use SharePoint or similar tools to input, track, and maintain workload or operational data
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to follow established procedures and document findings clearly
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with team members and internal customers
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute positively to group tasks and shared goals
- Demonstrated interest in learning enterprise-level information technology operations, including database administration, troubleshooting, and operational reporting
- Organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in tracking technical data, updating documentation, and assisting with routine reporting tasks

Pay
$3,167.00 - $4,268.00 per Month
Schedule
This position requires 4 or more days in the office per week. It is designated office-centered and may be eligible for some remote work based on departmental guidelines and operational need.
