Student Assistant- Monfort

About the role

The University of Georgia seeks a Student Assistant to assist lead scientist and technician in the planting, data collection, and harvesting of peanut agronomy research plots. Specific duties include but are not limited to the following: data collection, data entry, plot stake labeling, cleaning and filling sprayers, plot maintenance and plot photography.

Responsibilities

• Data collection (20%)
• Assistance with field work (20%)
• Plant Sampling (20%)
• Plot Maintenance (20%)
• Plant analysis (20%)

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred.
• Valid drivers license.

Qualifications

• Skills needed: Ability to collect data in field. Good communication skills. Ability to take direction. Ability to work with others as well as individually.
• On the job training will be provided.

Physical Demands

• Work outside in inclement weather when needed, lift up to 50 lbs, work with and around equipment and be pesticide friendly.
• Driving.
