Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary: The purpose of this position is to set up and print various projects on the 3D printers, laser cutters, and other architectural modeling technology and/or assisting the Architecture Shop Manager in setting up, cleaning, and monitoring the Wood and Metals Shops.

Minimum Qualifications: Current Del Mar College student enrolled in a minimum of 2 courses earning 6 credit hours each Fall & Spring semesters while employed.

Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Professional verbal and written communications skills. Ability to maintain and assist in the development of lab/shop policies and procedures. Knowledge of 3D printing technology. Knowledge of various CADD and 3D modeling software. Knowledge of plotters and printers and/or basic shop safety practices and construction technologies. Knowledge of various hand tools and power tools.

Preferred Qualifications: Second year Architectural/Drafting Technology or Engineering student.

Job Duties

• Receive, setup, and print student files for 3D printing, laser cutters, and other architectural modeling technology and/or be able to assist students with various projects in the Wood and Metals Shops.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the labs/shops. Adhere to and assist in developing lab/shop policies and procedures. Maintain entry logs. Maintain lab/shop consumable supply inventory.
• Provide support to faculty and staff. Must be available to work evenings and weekends in addition to regular business hours as necessary.
