About the role
The unit seeks a conscientious, thorough, and careful student assistant to assist lab personnel with sample preparation and laboratory maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Prepare samples for analysis. Percentage of time: 50%
- Collecting and maintaining insect colonies (ants). Percentage of time: 30%
- Wash lab ware and keep lab tidy. Percentage of time: 10%
- Record keeping along with other duties as assigned. Percentage of time: 10%
Requirements
- Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies: Lab experience in biology or similar. Basic computer skills. Attention to detail. Ability & willingness to learn from direction and experience.
Qualifications
- Sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting/carrying up to 30 lbs.
