Student Assistant - FWS - Asset & Logistics
Position Summary
This position provides support to the Housing and Residential Education, Asset & Logistics business unit in the area of Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Shipping and Receiving.
Responsibilities
The duties of the Asset & Logistics student employee include, but are not limited to:
- Providing assistance to Asset & Logistics staff in overall daily operations as requested: scanning, filing, data entry, and inventory
- Assisting staff with the inventory of parts/commodities in both the warehouse and assorted closets and storerooms
Schedule
Flexible, Mon – Fri 8:30am – 4:30pm. Average Number of Hours per Week: up to 20 hours per week.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled USF student
- Applicant must have a current Federal Work Study (FWS) award for the current academic year in order to apply for this position. Applicants are asked to demonstrate proof of their FWS award by saving their "Award Overview" screen as a print screen and then pasting it into a Word or PDF document and upload it as part of any additional required application materials. If other documents (in addition to your FWS award) are required as part of your application, you must upload ALL documents as one document.
Preferred Qualifications
- Applicants with a valid Florida Driver's license with a clean driving record and some experience driving large vehicles such as pick-up trucks or lift trucks
- Applicants able to view, test and pass the USF golf cart on-line training class
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Additional Information
This job may require physical abilities such as trunk strength, manual dexterity, and wrist-finger movement in order to safely perform the possible functions of the position. Staff members are to follow safe practices at all times while performing tasks. Safety supplies such as safety gloves, eye protection, masks and back braces are available upon request. This position receives instruction in the form of ongoing assignments, work orders, projects and tasks, which HRE Asset & Logistics staff will assign. This position requires strict attention to detail, safety and accountability of assets, supplies, materials, vehicles, keys and access cards.
