STUDENT ASSISTANT - AVIATION - TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION POOL

Position Information

The purpose of this position is to provide faculty assistance with the upkeep of the aircraft hanger classroom.

This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill Student Assistant assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises. You will be contacted by the hiring manager should the department/division be interested in scheduling an interview. AN APPLICATION IS VALID FOR ONE YEAR, AT WHICH TIME APPLICANTS WISHING TO REMAIN IN THE POOL MUST REAPPLY AND UPDATE THEIR INFORMATION.

Position Summary Information

• Current Del Mar College student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours including Aviation course(s) while employed.
• Basic knowledge of aircraft, hanger environment, movement of aircraft, servicing of aircraft, handling of aviation related materials, Ability to use hand, precision, and pneumatic tools.
• Completion of FAA General Knowledge courses preferred.
• This is a security-sensitive position. Job Duties

• Hanger maintenance.
• Servicing of support equipment.
• Aircraft servicing including basic maintenance of various aircraft systems such as landing gear, hydraulic systems, battery servicing, etc.
