About the Role

The Aviation Maintenance Technology Instructional Assistant provides instruction, supervision, and support for up to three Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) laboratory courses during the fall, spring, and summer semesters, as needed. This role involves collaborating with faculty and industry stakeholders to enhance the AMT program and ensure student success.

Responsibilities

• Assist faculty with the delivery of designated course content and instructional modules.
• Supervise and facilitate hands-on laboratory learning experiences.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards, procedures, and regulations.
• Collaborate with the AMT Program Manager on curriculum development, revision, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Serve as a representative of the program in interactions with aviation industry stakeholders, community partners, and external organizations.
• Support student recruitment, outreach, retention, and program marketing efforts.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities related to the Aviation Maintenance Technology program as assigned or required.
• May be required to assist the agency or state government in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge of all aircraft systems and equipment, including diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with faculty, staff, students, and employers within the college service region.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks for timely accomplishment.
• Computer literacy in word processing software; familiarity with email, web-based resources, and the Internet for educational purposes.
• Demonstrated understanding of teaching strategies, especially those related to adult learners.
• Valid driver’s license; full background check and driving record check required.

Qualifications

• Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Certificate as a Mechanic with both Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
• Relevant education, experience, and/or training in aviation maintenance or a related field.

Pay

$50,000 - $75,000 annual hiring range.
