This position is limited to working 129 hours per calendar month. The student must provide evidence of enrollment or acceptance to an educational institution. The salary range reflects the minimum through the maximum rate for this Student Assistant role.

Responsibilities

  • Add and/or update Employer Wage/Tax Reports from Audit Investigations and Proof of Wage Claims, including adjustments for Social Security Number errors.
  • Assist the Tax Office with employer financial maintenance to ensure data integrity aligns with the Michigan Employment Security (MES) Act and applicable Administrative Rules, including adherence to UI confidentiality agreements to prevent data breaches.
  • Perform accurate data entry and review information for precision.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others.
  • Assist with routine office functions and short-term projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a vocational or technical school, or post-secondary educational institution (evidence of enrollment must be attached to the application).
  • Proficiency in using a personal computer, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
  • Must be enrolled in at least six credit hours each term (summer attendance is not required).
  • Verification of course completion/grades may be required at the end of each semester.
  • Work must be performed in Michigan; relocation may be required if currently residing outside the state.
  • Possibility of a remote/hybrid schedule based on performance and operational need.
