About the role
The Teacher Apprentice role is designed for individuals pursuing a career in education who are actively enrolled in a teacher preparation program. This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the classroom while working under the supervision of a certified teacher. The role supports the development of teaching skills, classroom management strategies, and professional growth in a structured and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist certified teachers with lesson planning, instruction, and classroom management.
- Provide support to students individually or in small groups to enhance learning outcomes.
- Lead classroom activities under the guidance and supervision of the mentor teacher.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences, staff meetings, and professional development sessions as required.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to student progress and classroom activities.
- Actively engage in reflective practices to improve teaching strategies and student outcomes.
- Adhere to school policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Requirements
Education
- Actively enrolled in an accredited teacher preparation program.
Progress Requirements
- Demonstrate consistent progress in the teacher preparation program by providing evidence of passing scores each semester.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and administrators.

Pay
- Year 1 students will earn $13 an hour.
- Year 2 students will earn $14 an hour.
