Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Human Services or related field from an accredited college or university
- PREFERRED: Master's degree in a related field
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and families in school, community, or human services settings
Duties
- Collaborate as a member of the student support team to develop and implement strategies that align with the ASCA National Model and standards for K-8 social, emotional and character development.
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff to promote school connectedness and belonging.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 supports aligned with the school's MTSS framework.
- Facilitate individual student check-ins and mentoring opportunities.
- Coordinate and lead small groups focused on social skills, emotional regulation, executive functioning, conflict resolution, coping strategies, and other student needs.
- Assist in identifying early warning signs and barriers that may impact student success.
- Assist with and complete referrals to partner agencies for additional support and intervention as needed.
- Participate with other team members as a part of the Risk Assessment Protocol.
- Conduct suicide screeners and participate fully as a student support team member.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, meetings, and postsecondary plans in accordance with school policies.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and community partners to provide comprehensive support for students.
