About the Role
Schreiner University is seeking an energetic and student-centered Graduate Assistant to join the Office of Student Activities. This position provides a graduate student with progressive professional experience in student leadership development, Fraternity & Sorority Life, student organization success, and campus engagement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Fraternity & Sorority Life Development (Primary Responsibility)
- Coordinate meetings and initiatives for the Fraternity & Sorority Life Advisory Council alongside the Director of Student Activities.
- Develop programs that increase chapter visibility, membership recruitment, leadership development, and campus engagement.
- Meet regularly with chapter officers and advisors to identify opportunities for growth and collaboration.
- Assist in planning Greek Life recruitment, educational programming, community service initiatives, and recognition events.
- Track chapter goals, assessment measures, and annual accomplishments.
- Spawn Point Game Lounge Operations & Student Staff Supervision
- Provide day-to-day operational leadership for the Spawn Point Game Lounge.
- Supervise student assistants assigned to Spawn Point.
- Develop and manage weekly work schedules.
- Coordinate onboarding and ongoing staff training.
- Monitor customer service expectations and facility operations.
- Evaluate student staff performance and recommend improvements to operational procedures.
- Student Organization Leadership Development
- Co-design and facilitate workshops for student leaders covering organization management, recruitment, event planning, officer transitions, budgeting, risk management, marketing, and leadership best practices.
- Assist with the implementation and promotion of Student Organization Recognition programs.
- Support initiatives that increase the number, quality, and sustainability of Recognized Student Organizations.
- Student Engagement Training & Campus Initiatives
- Train student leaders, faculty, staff, and departments on the iBelong framework.
- Assist with implementation and promotion of the Side Quest engagement program.
- Provide educational sessions on the Student Organization Handbook, university policies, and organizational expectations.
- Collaborate with campus departments to integrate belonging and engagement practices into student programming.
- Assist with assessment efforts and data collection related to student engagement initiatives.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with major Student Activities events including Welcome Week, Homecoming, Family Weekend, Recall Weekend, Orientation, and signature campus traditions.
- Serve on departmental committees and participate in Student Affairs initiatives as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Student Activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program at Schreiner University.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Availability to work nights and weekends.
