About the role

The Student Accounts Technical Assistant supports the day-to-day operations of the Student Accounts Team during a large-scale transition to Workday. This role requires flexibility, a willingness to learn, and the ability to maintain best practices in technology and service excellence. This is a full-time, non-exempt, fixed-term position ending June 30, 2028.

Responsibilities

Accounts Receivables

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for billing inquiries from parents and students regarding their accounts.
  • Assist in communications with parents and students via email, telephone, and in-person to address questions about specific charges and account activity.
  • Counsel parents and students on payment options.
  • Assist in removing Student Account holds once accounts are cleared.
  • Regularly enter cash receipts for mailed student payments.
  • Assist with End of Day transactions.
  • Run daily electronic Payment Plan files.
  • Assist with electronic notification files through Google.
  • Post departmental charges.
  • Prepare account reconciliations for weekly review.
  • Assist with ad-hoc bank transaction entries.
  • Review daily cashiering entries for both electronic and mailed payments.
  • Adjust payment plans for late enrollments and under/over contracted amounts.
  • Assist with student invoicing as needed.

Workday Transition Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting Staff Job Aids and Standard Operating Procedures for Student Accounts.
  • Maintain questions and answers for Workday Student Financial go-live.
  • Prepare website updates by removing outdated information and drafting new materials.
  • Assist with legacy data cleanup and auditing student data before migration.
  • Participate in go-live preparation activities for Student Financials.

Cross Training and Backup

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Step in and pivot to new tasks as priorities change due to volume and need.
  • Gain knowledge of the Financial Aid Office and related offices to assist in troubleshooting student questions.
  • Learn to run standardized reports related to regular tasks and assist team members with daily work.
  • Assist with data entry tasks as needed or assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a business-related or customer service-related field plus two or more years of relevant experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in desktop software and spreadsheet applications.
  • Knowledge of AI applications or ability to learn tools to enhance daily operations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong multi-tasking abilities and a customer service focus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all campus constituencies.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills to implement assigned responsibilities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet established deadlines.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills.

Pay

$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
