Structures Representative
About the role
The Structures Representative position is located within the San Francisco Bay Area, greater Sacramento area, or the Central Valley. This role requires a BSCE or related degree, a current California PE license, and at least 12 years of experience, 5 of which are as a Structures Representative.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing and inspecting plans and calculations for: falsework; shoring; staging; bridge removal; and other technical submissions, on City, County, Caltrans and other State projects
- Responding to and effectively resolving field construction issues
- Conducting meetings between contractor, owner, utilities and other project parties
- Inspecting, documenting, and coordinating field tests of construction materials
- Analyzing construction costs of changed conditions, drafting change orders, and recommending claims dispositions
- Preparing constructability reviews and reports
- Assuming responsibility for field engineering, contract administration, inspection, testing, surveying, and quality control on one large or several small construction projects
- Supervising field inspection and field office personnel
- Representing projects at meetings and conferences
- Exercising responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Requirements
- Required Qualifications
- BSCE or related Degree
- Current California PE license
- Minimum of 12 years of experience, 5 of which are as a Structures Representative
- Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and material
- Valid CA driver's license
- Solid written and verbal skills
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
- Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications: Additional qualifications may include:
- Experience with project management software
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations
- Experience with construction cost estimating
- Experience with project scheduling and budgeting
Skills
- Technical knowledge of construction engineering principles and practices
- Ability to make independent decisions on significant construction engineering problems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Pay
Expected Salary: $167,800 - $249,150
