About the role
We are seeking a Full-time Structure Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance operations for local bridges and structures in the Broward County, Florida area. This role involves a variety of tasks related to roadway construction and maintenance while adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repair tasks on bridges and structures.
- Adhere to roadway construction and maintenance regulations and standards.
- Read and interpret plans and specifications for structures.
- Maintain and operate construction tools safely and properly.
- Carry out tasks under varying environmental and weather conditions.
- Perform strenuous manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Operate hand and power tools.
- Comply with all safety processes and procedures.
- Use smartphones and applications for work-related tasks.
- Adjust to changing work schedules, including overtime, nights, and weekends.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of related experience in bridge/structure repair and maintenance.
- General knowledge of reading and understanding plans and specifications for structures.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (essential).
- Must pass criminal background check and controlled substance/drug testing.
- Ability to take direction and produce quality work efficiently.
- Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
- Basic arithmetic skills.
- Ability to maintain proper safety equipment for each job.
- Willingness to adapt to the latest technology.
- Must have transportation to and from the company office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (Spanish/English).
- Roadway maintenance or construction skills.
- CDL license (preferred but not required).
- MOT Certifications (Advanced).
Pay
$18.00–$19.00+/hr, depending on experience.
Schedule
Full-time; must be flexible and willing to work on-call, overtime, nights, and weekends as needed.
