Structure Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Full-time Structure Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance operations for local bridges and structures in the Broward County, Florida area. This role involves a variety of tasks related to roadway construction and maintenance while adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair tasks on bridges and structures.
• Adhere to roadway construction and maintenance regulations and standards.
• Read and interpret plans and specifications for structures.
• Maintain and operate construction tools safely and properly.
• Carry out tasks under varying environmental and weather conditions.
• Perform strenuous manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Operate hand and power tools.
• Comply with all safety processes and procedures.
• Use smartphones and applications for work-related tasks.
• Adjust to changing work schedules, including overtime, nights, and weekends.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of related experience in bridge/structure repair and maintenance.
• General knowledge of reading and understanding plans and specifications for structures.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (essential).
• Must pass criminal background check and controlled substance/drug testing.
• Ability to take direction and produce quality work efficiently.
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
• Basic arithmetic skills.
• Ability to maintain proper safety equipment for each job.
• Willingness to adapt to the latest technology.
• Must have transportation to and from the company office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual (Spanish/English).
• Roadway maintenance or construction skills.
• CDL license (preferred but not required).
• MOT Certifications (Advanced).

Pay

$18.00–$19.00+/hr, depending on experience.

Schedule

Full-time; must be flexible and willing to work on-call, overtime, nights, and weekends as needed.
