Responsibilities
- Oversight on directing and coordinating project activities to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
- Establish fee estimates and coordinate multi-disciplinary staffing for each phase of the project while working with the Project Management Principal and Group Leaders regarding assignment of project personnel.
- Provide subconsultant management as well as staff development.
- Deliver projects that meet local (State, County or City) and DOT/AASHTO standards.
- Maintain positive relationships with current and past clients as well as assist in the development and implementation of local marketing and business development.
- Research and track future project opportunities with Client Account Managers.
- Initiate and review proposals while also participating in interviews and presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in transportation design
- Substantial experience in bridge design
- Previous project management experience on transportation projects
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Michigan, or obtainable in 6 months
- Established local client relationships and has experience on MDOT projects
- Demonstrated experience on various types of bridges, to include analysis, design and plan development of new and rehabilitation projects
- Solid understanding of and practical experience applying the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications to transportation structures
- Working knowledge of CAD systems - MicroStation and AutoCAD
- Demonstrated ability to perform quality control practices through all phases of design and plans production
- Active engagement in professional organizations

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
