About the role
This position is focused on the design of structures which support Water purification and treatment facilities, making water supplies more resilient and sustainable. This engineer will design a variety of structural systems, broaden their design experience, and collaborate with other disciplines, while delivering critical water infrastructure projects to the community.
Responsibilities
- Execute complex structural analysis, perform calculations, and prepare sketches and drawings for the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, industrial facilities, and other complex structural facilities
- Supervises Structural Engineers (both in the US and in overseas offices) and works with Structural Technicians in preparation of structural drawings and specifications
- Is responsible for leading larger production teams and serving as the responsible charge for projects
- Perform construction phase engineering duties such as site visits, responding to RFI’s, and review of contractor submittals
- Perform project administrative tasks, which may include any/all of the following:
- Coincide work with architects and other discipline engineers
- Ability to lead a team to execute complex projects with construction values of up to $100M
- Provides guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and B&Veatch policies. Assists in developing, maintaining, and updating engineering standards. Provides technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines. Support continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications
- Master of Engineering or Master of Science from an ABET accredited Structural Engineering program
- Familiarity with the latest editions of the International Building Code, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 530
- Proficiency with use of structural analysis software such as RISA 3D, STAADPro, or SAP 2000
- Proficiency with use of non-structural software packages such as Bluebeam, ProjectWise, AutoCAD, and Revit
