Responsibilities

  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings, detailed work instructions, and schematics to perform structural integration tasks.
  • Perform precision drilling, countersinking, and hole preparation on composite, plywood, and metallic structures to specified drawing tolerances.
  • Prepare surfaces for structural adhesive bonding, including cleaning, abrading, and conditioning in accordance with process requirements.
  • Apply structural adhesive bonds accurately and consistently to ensure proper strength and performance of the assembly.
  • Install structural fasteners, including rivets, blind fasteners, and threaded inserts, to specified torque values and spacing requirements.
  • Trim composite and plywood parts, edges, and bond lines to net dimensions while maintaining dimensional accuracy and surface quality.
  • Use hand tools and related equipment safely and effectively to complete mechanical and structural integration tasks.
  • Work with pre-built products and hardware to integrate components into complete structural assemblies rather than performing repetitive basic assembly tasks.
  • Follow travelers, routers, or MES/ERP work order systems to document work performed and ensure traceability and process compliance.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve issues related to structure, mechanical integration, and bonding processes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all safety, quality, and process standards.
  • Support aerospace, unmanned systems, and defense-related manufacturing projects by delivering high-quality structural builds on schedule.

Requirements

  • Ability to work accurately from engineering drawings, detailed work instructions, and schematics.
  • Proficiency in precision drilling, countersinking, and hole preparation on composite, plywood, and metallic structures to drawing tolerances.
  • Ability to prepare surfaces for structural adhesive bonds and apply adhesives in accordance with specifications.
  • Ability to install structural fasteners, including rivets, blind fasteners, and threaded inserts, to specified torque and spacing requirements.
  • Ability to trim composite and plywood parts, edges, and bond lines to net dimensions while maintaining dimensional accuracy.
  • Experience with aerospace composite structures such as fiberglass, carbon fiber, and plywood.
  • Experience with structural fasteners and adhesive bond preparation and bonding processes.
  • Experience working from a traveler/router or MES/ERP work order system.
  • Prior experience in UAS, aerospace, or defense manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working with pre-built products focused on hardware and integration rather than repetitive assembly.
  • Comfort using a variety of hand tools for mechanical and structural integration work.

Qualifications

  • Experience with structural integration of composite and metallic components in aerospace or related industries.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for work order management.
  • Understanding of bonding processes for fiberglass, carbon fiber, and plywood structures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a structured production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to following documented processes and quality standards.
