Structural Steel Project Manager

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage structural steel projects from contract award through final completion
  • Coordinate detailing, engineering, fabrication, delivery, and field erection activities
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and production timelines
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
  • Review contracts, specifications, drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Maintain project cost control, monitor labor productivity, and manage material procurement
  • Cope with shop management and field superintendents to ensure project success
  • Negotiate and manage change orders and project scope modifications
  • Track project progress and provide regular updates to leadership and clients
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Structural Steel Project Manager or recent graduate with a construction management degree
  • Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes
  • Experience managing commercial, industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, education, or large-scale construction projects
  • Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings
  • Experience with project management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of AISC standards and industry best practices
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $80,000 – $135,000 DOE

Early Career Candidates

  • Recent graduates with a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field are encouraged to apply
