About the role
Newly built fabrication facility located in Ozark, Missouri in need of several qualified, reliable structural welders.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret welding instructions from documents, sketches, drawings, or verbal direction for the fabrication of engineered components.
- Gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
- Repairs various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Company Standards.
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Pass a structural plate test.
- Valid drivers license.
- Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
- Set-up and operate various types of arc-welding and cutting equipment.
- Plan work and select proper tools.
- Knowledge of technical and mechanical terminology, processes, and equipment.
- Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn operations and equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform work activities with minimum supervision.
- Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
- Ability to make decisions based on measurable criteria.
- Ability to work and adhere to all company safety policies.
Education & Experience
- Technical or on-the-job experience as well as certifications preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead.
- Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
- Able to exert up to 70 pounds of force (pulling, pushing, lifting, carrying, etc.).
- Able to balance, sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and handle for 12 or more hours.
- Able to work around moving machinery including vibrating machinery and tolerate environmental conditions consisting of heat, cold temperatures, noise, vibration, fumes, and dust.
- Able to climb stairs or a ladder to perform essential job functions.
- Able to operate trucks and lifts in a safe manner and adhere to all company safety requirements.
- Able to use hand and power tools.
