Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for commercial and mission-critical data center projects.
- Design structural systems utilizing steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and wood.
- Prepare structural calculations, technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.
- Develop and review structural drawings in coordination with architects and other engineering disciplines.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and client requirements.
- Collaborate with owners, architects, contractors, and internal project teams throughout all phases of design and construction.
- Conduct site visits, field observations, and structural assessments as required.
- Respond to Request for Information (RFIs), review shop drawings, and provide construction administration support.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables while maintaining a high level of quality.
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance to project team members.
- Participate in client meetings and assist with business development activities when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field required.
- 3-10+ years of structural engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Experience designing commercial building projects including office, mixed-use, industrial, healthcare, educational, hospitality, and retail facilities.
- Experience with data center or mission-critical facility design is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of structural design codes and standards including IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, and TMS.
- Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as RAM Structural System, ETABS, RISA-3D, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or similar.
- Experience preparing structural calculations and construction documents.
- Working knowledge of Revit and BIM coordination processes.
- Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Structural Engineer (SE) license or actively pursuing SE licensure.
- Experience with hyperscale, colocation, or mission-critical data center projects.
- Experience leading project teams and serving as the primary engineering contact for clients.
- Familiarity with fast-track project delivery methods and large-scale commercial developments.
