About the role
Functions as a technical specialist or in a lead role. With minimal supervision, applies advanced engineering techniques and analyses. Continues building on knowledge to develop concepts and approach more complex engineering problems. May provide technical guidance over a group or supervise engineering staff on projects of low to medium complexity. May be responsible for developing, validating, and presenting specialist/technical output.
The role is part of BV Operations, aligning your skills with projects supporting our three market sectors: Governments and Environment, Energy and Process Industries, and Connectivity and Commercial. You will engage with global projects ranging from small community improvements to large-scale Mega Projects.
Responsibilities
- Develops knowledge and may provide guidance on design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and B&V policies.
- Provides technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines.
- Independently applies knowledge and complies with B&V quality program; may ensure compliance for assigned tasks.
- Supports continuous improvement and change management efforts.
- Prepares complex engineering deliverables for larger or multiple projects.
- Performs complex research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
- Oversees collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work.
- Prepares complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
- Manages assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Applies advanced engineering techniques and analysis to problems and methods.
- Delegates tasks to lower-level team members to develop project execution staff.
- Reviews lower-level engineering work or assignments.
- Leads production teams, coordinates multiple discipline activities, or serves as the responsible charge for a project.
- Coordinates with internal/external team members on moderately complex projects.
- Assists with identifying key client interests and drivers on low to moderately complex projects; communicates these to the team and develops approaches to accommodate them.
- Provides support to business development or pursuit activities and may offer other services to clients.
- Serves as a technical specialist, providing consultation and guidance to project teams in a particular practice area.
- Designs complete projects of moderately complex scope or supports multiple projects on complex technical challenges.
- Fosters knowledge management and provides mentoring to lower-level professionals.
- Assists with performance management processes, mentoring, recognition, and corrective actions.
- Participates in career planning, learning, and development.
- Mentors lower-level professionals and identifies successors for specific roles.
- May assist with resource management strategy and have responsibility for engineering resources within small groups of a single discipline.
- May be accountable for administrative responsibilities such as ensuring policies and procedures are implemented, approving timesheets, and expense reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program.
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
- Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, including background checks, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.
- Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries.
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant steel and reinforced concrete design experience at Nuclear Power Plants.
- Experience writing technical and/or construction specifications.
- Experience writing scope of work documents.
- Experience with nuclear document design verification.

- Code Experience: ASME Section III, Section XI, AISC (15th Edition), ACI 318, 349

Pay
Annual compensation range: $137,916.00 - $230,328.00
Schedule
Full-time. Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion, job performance, and work assignments. Relocation eligible.
