About the role
DIS-TRAN Packaged Substations is seeking Structural Marshaling Technicians to work at our Port of Alexandria Manufacturing Facility. The technician is responsible for handling completed products (structures and factory‑built substations) from the end of production through shipment, loading, unloading, and storing them safely. The role involves following safety protocols, maintaining efficiency, ensuring product quality, and supporting overall team operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage completed products (structures and PFB) from production through shipment or yard storage.
- Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities with the team.
- Maintain a safe work environment for the Structural Marshaling Team.
- Prioritize lay‑down yard cleanliness.
- Organize and schedule crane usage for loading and unloading, maximizing crane utilization when on site.
- Maintain and update the product bin location map (PSS Hard Stand Map) as changes occur.
- Coordinate with shipping teams to schedule efficient product shipments.
- Assist the Logistics Team during slower periods.
- Train the team on safe, efficient rigging processes, including use of straps, shackles, spreader bars, elevated‑height work, forklifts, and basic hand tools.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of structural marshaling experience (preferred).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Adobe Acrobat (preferred).
- Strong analytical, communication, and customer‑service skills (preferred).
