At PCL, we build the places where life happens and find camaraderie in the process. We're a community of builders committed to building better communities. We are currently hiring Structural Ironworker Journeymen at our Bison Generation Power Station in Ray, North Dakota.
Responsibilities
- Safe use of Hand & Power Tools
- Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
- Align, bolt, weld, and rivet steel components using appropriate tools and methods
- Hoist steel beams, columns, and other materials into place using cranes, rigging, and signal methods
- Fabricate and install steel structures, catwalks, support systems, pipe racks, and bracing
- Perform layout and fit-up for structural assemblies with precision
- Cut and weld metal components using oxy-fuel torches, plasma cutters, arc welding, or other techniques
- Inspect and verify structural alignment, bolt torque, and weld quality to meet job specifications and safety codes
- Use a variety of hand tools and power tools including torches, levels, grinders, reamers, and hydraulic equipment
- Work at heights using fall protection systems, scaffolds, ladders, and aerial lifts in accordance with safety procedures
- Collaborate with crane operators, riggers, welders, and other trades to ensure coordinated and timely completion of tasks
- Determine the number, sizes, shapes, and locations of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches, or oral instructions
- Plan sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers
- Cut reinforcing iron and rebar to required lengths using hacksaw, bar cutters, or cutting torch according to site specific and industry standards
- Prioritize tasks according to job schedule
- Ensure proper permits have been obtained and can read & understand all permits
Requirements
- Minimum of 48+ verifiable work experience within craft
- OSHA 10, OSHA 30 OR Safety Essentials
Pay
$40.00–$42.00 per hour (based on certification)
Per Diem
$175.00 per day worked (if eligible)
