Job Summary
GBA is seeking a Structural Inspector (Diver) to join our Transportation Group in Round Rock, Texas. This role involves performing underwater structural inspections as a certified commercial diver, conducting inspections of bridges and other transportation structures, and supporting inspection projects throughout Texas.
Responsibilities
- Perform underwater structural inspections as a certified commercial diver.
- Conduct inspections of bridges and other transportation structures throughout Texas.
- Assist with structural inspection and evaluation projects, including field data collection and documentation.
- Develop clear, accurate inspection reports and project deliverables.
- Apply structural engineering principles to inspection, assessment, and rehabilitation projects.
- Collaborate with engineers and inspectors to evaluate structural conditions and recommend solutions.
- Travel periodically throughout Texas to support inspection projects and client needs.
- Maintain compliance with safety procedures and industry standards during all inspection activities.
Requirements
- ADCI Certified Commercial Diver certification (required).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to quality.
- Ability and willingness to travel for project assignments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Dedication to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
- Completion of NHI Underwater Bridge Inspection Course (130091).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas.
- Project management experience.
- Experience with load ratings and bridge preservation projects.
- Completion of NHI Inspection of Ancillary Highway Structures (130087).
- Completion of NHI Bridge Inspection Techniques for Nonredundant Steel Tension Members (NSTM) (130078).
- Residence in or willingness to relocate to the Round Rock/Austin area.
- Ability to perform commercial diving activities in varying environmental conditions.
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in changing weather conditions.
- Ability to lift, carry, and operate inspection and diving equipment.
- Ability to travel and perform field inspections throughout Texas.
