Job Overview

U.S. Forensic is seeking an experienced Professional Engineer specializing in Structural Forensics to provide consulting services on a contract basis. This opportunity is ideal for senior-level engineers seeking flexible, project-based assignments while applying deep technical expertise in forensic investigations, failure analysis, and expert consulting.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct forensic investigations involving structural failures, collapses, construction defects, and property damage claims.
  • Perform site inspections and gather relevant field data, measurements, photographs, and documentation.
  • Analyze structural systems and determine the cause, origin, and extent of reported damages or failures.
  • Apply engineering principles, applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices to develop conclusions.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and technically sound forensic engineering reports.
  • Participate in depositions, mediation, arbitration, and trial proceedings as an expert witness when required.
  • Communicate findings effectively with clients, attorneys, insurance professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable building codes, engineering standards, and forensic investigation methodologies.
  • Perform other project-related consulting services as assigned.

Requirements

The successful candidate must hold a valid Professional Engineer license and possess extensive experience in structural forensic engineering. A strong background in construction defects, collapse analysis, and property damage investigations is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with forensic software tools are preferred. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary to interact with clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
