Responsibilities
- Lead the technical execution of projects including structural stability and strength analyses, structural design, and regulatory compliance activities associated with a variety of hydraulic concrete structures such as spillways, outlet works, and other site civil structures.
- Prepare structural reports, drawings, and specifications for hydraulic concrete structures on dams, levees, and water conveyance structures.
- Incorporate innovation in design and delivery, and support groups of engineers, designers and/or specialists with development of structural design documents and contract deliverables.
- Ensure structural designs are completed in accordance with contractual obligations, applicable standards, and design documents, and confirm review and approval have been completed prior to release to client.
- Ensure that QA/QC procedures are being implemented and ensure the technical quality of deliverables.
- Lead responses to client’s comments on structural design elements of the deliverables.
- Prepare and present technical presentations to project team, clients, and technical review boards.
- Interface with project teams, clients, and subcontractors through progression of the design deliverables.
- Prepare structural engineering proposals, and assist in establishing structural scope, work plan, and work schedules.
- Manage budgets, provide client updates, and perform general project management tasks.
- Anticipate potential budget and schedule impacts and initiate plans for alternative actions.
- Train, mentor, and develop staff, and support career growth opportunities for staff.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Professional Engineer license.
- 10+ years of related engineering experience preferred.
- Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
