Structural Engineer/Project Manager

About the role

KPFF Seattle's Structural Team is seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from high-rise towers to medical centers, and to collaborate with clients and other professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of structural engineering projects, from concept to closeout
  • Act as the primary liaison for clients, managing expectations and ensuring satisfaction
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines
  • Contribute to proposal development and drive business growth
  • Manage the Quality Control process and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards
  • Leverage Revit/BIM software for design coordination and drawing production
  • Identify potential risks and devise effective mitigation strategies
  • Conduct and oversee field observation to document existing conditions and gather data
  • Manage the construction administration phase of projects
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers
  • Oversee administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering, 7+ years minimum experience with a consulting firm
  • MSCE or MSE with emphasis in Structural Engineering preferred
  • Professional Engineering license in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering license
  • Strong technical and organizational abilities
  • Experience in designing reinforced concrete, structural steel, wood, masonry, and/or post-tensioned concrete
  • Proficiency with RAM Structural Systems (RAMSteel, RAMConcept), CSI Software Suite (ETABS, SAP, SAFE), REVIT
  • Passionate about providing exceptional client services
  • Strong communicator and collaborator
  • Self-motivated
