About the role
KPFF Seattle's Structural Team is seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from high-rise towers to medical centers, and to collaborate with clients and other professionals.
Responsibilities
- Lead all phases of structural engineering projects, from concept to closeout
- Act as the primary liaison for clients, managing expectations and ensuring satisfaction
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines
- Contribute to proposal development and drive business growth
- Manage the Quality Control process and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards
- Leverage Revit/BIM software for design coordination and drawing production
- Identify potential risks and devise effective mitigation strategies
- Conduct and oversee field observation to document existing conditions and gather data
- Manage the construction administration phase of projects
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers
- Oversee administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications
- BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering, 7+ years minimum experience with a consulting firm
- MSCE or MSE with emphasis in Structural Engineering preferred
- Professional Engineering license in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering license
- Strong technical and organizational abilities
- Experience in designing reinforced concrete, structural steel, wood, masonry, and/or post-tensioned concrete
- Proficiency with RAM Structural Systems (RAMSteel, RAMConcept), CSI Software Suite (ETABS, SAP, SAFE), REVIT
- Passionate about providing exceptional client services
- Strong communicator and collaborator
