About the role
Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Structural Engineer for our Charlotte, NC office. The position involves performing structural design and analysis of environmental structures like low-rise industrial buildings, pump stations, process basins, treatment facilities, dams, and spillways. The selected individual will lead structural design and construction administration for major projects at wastewater, water, and reclaimed water treatment plants.
Responsibilities
- Full structural design per governing building codes and design standards including ACI, AISC and ASCE STAAD for analysis and design of structures
- Performing construction management tasks such as shop drawings reviews and field inspections
- Communicate effectively and work successfully in a multi-discipline team environment
- Primarily in-office work, with some travel and field work required for site reconnaissance tasks, condition assessments, and structural observation
Requirements
- 5 - 10 years of relevant experience
- Completed BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural concentration from an ABET accredited institution
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in NC and/or SC
- Experience in design and construction of reinforced concrete, steel, reinforced masonry and structural aluminum
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in group settings
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel

Pay
Starting pay range for this position depends on skills, experience, education and geographical location
