What You'll Do
- Cook up structural design on multidiscipline project teams including Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Piping/Plumbing (MEP) professionals
- Do structural analysis and design of concrete, steel, wood, masonry and different type of structural systems for lateral and gravity forces, along with the creation of justifying structural calculations
- Think like a boss and make technical assumptions to complete assigned work, and draw conclusions based on engineering judgement
- Give 30%, 60%, 90% design reviews to stakeholders and multi-discipline teams
- Do field work independently or with the design team
- Plan out projects with limited scoping information
- Manage structural projects from estimating through construction
- Support bidding and construction admin, RFI review, Submittal and Shop drawing approvals, and response to field issues
What You'll Bring
- A Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering, or the equivalent in experience, and minimum 3 years of experience with structural design and engineering
- A Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in CA is preferred
- Knows software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, RISA 3D, RAM Structural System, BIM/CAD modeling tools (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD)
- Has advanced level understanding of California building code and structural design standards
- Is advanced proficient in structural design with various materials such as steel, concrete, Unistrut, cold-form steel, steel welding and reinforcement details of concrete
- Is advanced proficient in lateral (seismic/wind) and foundation design and related code requirements
- Is advanced proficient in design considering constructability and construction sequence for fabrication/installation
- Is advanced proficient in developing structural plans, details and supporting calculations for Permit and Construction packages including responding to Plan Check
- Has experience in structural design of buildings for high-tech infrastructure, industrial, or operational facilities (automobile manufacturing, semiconductor, solar, battery, etc.) is huge plus
