Responsibilities

  • Have an in-depth understanding and ability to analyze and design according to current design codes, design criteria, and structural mechanics.
  • Design of Permanent Structures such as bridges, sign foundations, moment slabs, MSE Walls, etc.
  • Design of Temporary Structures including, but not limited to:
    • Formwork/Falsework Design
    • Erection, Demolition, and Heavy Lift Planning
    • Support of Excavation Systems
    • Load Rating and Evaluation of Existing Structures
    • Temporary Bridges and Work Trestles
    • Fall Protection Systems
    • Barge Analysis
  • On-Site Design Engineering Support and Inspections.
  • Coordinate with Project Engineers and Project Managers to resolve issues.
  • Assist with material and shop drawing submittals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree or higher in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university (Master’s Degree or greater is preferred).
  • GPA above 3.0 preferred.
  • 0-2 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience with permanent and temporary structures, construction engineering, or construction labor is a plus.
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam or the ability to do so within the first year of employment.
  • Strong understanding of constructability and academic knowledge of structural engineering.
  • Experience with engineering design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, RISA-3D, MathCAD, SkyCiv, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter and ability to work unsupervised.
  • Team player and self-motivated to be successful.
  • Legally able to work in the US.
