About the role
The Engineer I is an entry-level position designed to provide hands-on experience and foundational professional development within a collaborative engineering environment. This role supports project teams in the planning, design, and production of engineering deliverables while gaining exposure to real-world projects across multiple disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Working under close supervision, the Engineer I partners with project managers and experienced engineers to assist with technical tasks, data preparation, and coordination activities.
- Participate in team meetings and project coordination efforts, assisting with task tracking and follow-up items.
- Communicate effectively with internal team members and managers to share progress, ask questions, and seek guidance.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to gain exposure to integrated project delivery and cross-discipline coordination.
- Aid in the preparation of engineering designs, plans, calculations, and reports while developing familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and internal processes.
- Utilize engineering software and tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, GEOPAK/Open Roads, and/or MicroStation to support design and production efforts.
- Engage in training, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to build technical competency and project-specific skills.
- Attend industry events and participate in professional organizations to support career development and industry awareness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field
- 0-4 years of relevant experience
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or intent to obtain within six months if necessary
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit; additional relevant software experience is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to ask questions, receive feedback, and communicate effectively within a team environment.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively on multidisciplinary project teams.
Qualifications
- Currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
Skills
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit; additional relevant software experience is a plus.
