Structural Engineer - Bridge

Dewberry is seeking a Structural Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience to join a team of outstanding professionals in our Eastern, Central, or Western PA locations. The successful candidate will design simple and complex bridges and a variety of transportation-related structures, as well as develop proposals, contract plans, engineer’s estimates, construction specifications, and perform construction support services.

Responsibilities

• Perform structure-related design for transportation projects.
• Assign tasks to and coordinate with entry-level engineers, technicians, or administrative staff.
• Assist in determining schedule and budget requirements.
• Develop proposals, contract plans, engineer’s estimates, and construction specifications.
• Perform construction support services, including shop drawing review.

Requirements

• BS in Civil Engineering (MS in Structural Engineering preferred).
• 5 to 10 years of experience with PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike Commission.
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam (PE preferred).
• Proficiency using CADD (MicroStation preferred) and MS Office software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with PennDOT’s structural design software and other industry-standard structural software.
• Experience with structure-related design for transportation projects, including:
  • Bridges
  • Retaining Walls
  • Culverts
  • Sign Structures
  • Contract Plans
  • Engineer’s Estimates
  • Construction Specifications
• Driving is a requirement of the position; a clean driving record is required.
