Structural Engineer

College graduate with a Civil or Structural Engineering Degree, 0-3 years of experience working in civil engineering, structural engineering or architectural field. You will interface with client engineering representatives and other Valdes discipline engineers. Responsibilities: Entry level knowledge within the civil/structural engineering or architectural discipline with the capabilities and the initiative to perform the tasks with supervisory/mentor assistanceDesign shallow foundationsDesign individual pipe supports and pipe rack type structuresDesign basic structural steel access platforms with ladder or stair detailsDevelop basic structural connectionsLearn design codes and follow established design criteriaHave a basic understanding of structural analysis softwareManage his or her own time to stay within the project allotted budgetCoordinate engineering details/drafting with department designer staff to develop project design drawingsReview vendor concrete reinforcement and structural steel shop fabrication drawingsLearn to develop and review project specificationsVerify field conditions, constructability of designs, and assist in resolving problems during field constructionMay be required to participate in short or long term field assignmentsAll other duties as assigned Technical Competencies: Entry level knowledge of civil/structural engineering or architectural designGood verbal and written communication skillsFamiliarity of AutoCAD software Familiarity with Risa-3D and STAADPro analysis software a plus Solid Microsoft Office skills Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher Structural EngineeringExperience: 0-3 Years of experience working as a civil or structural engineerEIT license preferredFundamentals of Engineering (FE) license preferred and on track to obtaining a Professional License (PE) preferredMust be able to work in the US now and in the future without sponsorshipEligible to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future $75,000 - $105,000 a year Salaries for all positions are based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, total years of experience in the industry, education, skills, and qualifications.
