What You Will Be Doing
- Determining client requirements and developing reports, specifications, drawings, instructions, and related documents.
- Visiting construction sites to monitor progress.
- Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates and design schedules for projects.
- Evaluating the need for design changes and communicating appropriate recommendations to project manager or clients.
- Serving as a technical liaison with clients on project efforts and coordinating technical efforts within discipline areas.
- Consulting with construction personnel concerning design constructability as related to field conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in the design of buildings and other structures in accordance with design codes and standards published by ICC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC.
- Experience as structural lead on multiple concurrent large projects.
- Proficient in concrete and structural steel design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with clients and team members.
- Software: RISA or STAADPro, Mathcad, LPILE (optional)
- PE License or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- 4-8 years of relevant structural experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with government design standards such as Unified Facilities Criteria
- International travel capabilities
- Power generation experience
- Experience in Masonry, CFS, or Wood Design
