Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural design and analysis for building and infrastructure projects using materials such as structural steel, cold-formed steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.
- Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Utilize design and analysis software including AutoCAD, Revit, frame analysis software (e.g., RISA), and component design tools such as L-Pile, ENERCALC, or PCA MATS.
- Lead structural discipline tasks for smaller projects or specific elements of larger projects.
- Conduct technical reviews of engineering work prepared by other engineers and designers.
- Perform field services including site assessments, structural inspections, and construction observations.
- Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, and other project team members.
- Assist with proposal development, project planning, and structural workhour estimates for projects.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers, supporting their technical development and project contributions.
- Support business development efforts and assist with marketing initiatives to expand client relationships.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (or equivalent international degree).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States required.
- Minimum of 9–10+ years of structural engineering experience depending on education background.
- Experience with structural design and analysis of building systems and foundations.
- Proficiency with structural analysis and design software as well as AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience developing technical specifications and engineering documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with federal design criteria such as UFC, DoD, or VA standards is a plus.
- Ability to travel and attend project meetings as required.
