Structural Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop design plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates for public bidding
• Provide support and guidance for junior staff
• Manage and coordinate with clients and subconsultants
• Track project budgets
• Delegate work tasks to support staff
• Collect and review survey data
• Manage land rights and regulatory permitting

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• 4-8 years’ relevant bridge design experience
• P.E. preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving
• Experience with project management
• Familiarity with the MassDOT Bridge Manual

Desired Skills and Experience

• Ability to work in a team environment
• Knowledgeable about bridge design and construction
• Experience with bridge quantity/cost take-offs
• Experience with quality control of project documents
